Plug In America will present National Plug In Day on Sunday, October 16 with events in more than 20 cities coast to coast—from Kissimmee, FL to Honolulu, HI. We’ve teamed up with the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association for this outreach campaign so that people across the country may get close-up and personal with plug-ins through EV parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, lectures, ceremonial plugging-ins and much more. We need your help! National Plug In Day will be the largest grassroots EV event in history and in order to produce an unforgettable event and cover our costs, we need grassroots support. Your donation of $25 will ensure that people who know nothing about EVs will get to see them, for the first time, in action, and get to know plug-ins from people who have been driving them for years. Help us help the movement grow! For our flagship event, we expect 200 EV owners to drive legacy and new plug-in vehicles by GM, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota, SMART, Ford, Tesla, and Coda. Director Chris Paine, whose film, “Revenge of the Electric Car,” will hit theaters across the country on October 21st, will be a featured speaker at a press conference preceding the parade. He’ll be joined by actor/environmentalist and long-time EV driver Ed Begley, Jr. and others. When someone sees an electric car on the street we know they’re filled with unanswered questions. How far can it go? How fast is it? And our favorite, ‘Where can I get one?’ Next Sunday, we’ll be there to answer those questions. Plug In America is working with teams of volunteers in cities in every corner of our country so no one leaves a National Plug In Day event with unanswered questions. On October 16th, we’ll have a new, larger than ever, base of EV advocates. And, no matter where you are, please make sure to make your contribution today. Let’s give everyone the chance to be an EV advocate. With Excitement, Dan Davids |
